To be honest, this is the type of work we love most - bringing
together the skills of our entire team and letting the creative
juices flow. As bandwidth increases and the internet gets faster,
more and more of this type of work can be viewed online - as
well as from CDs, DVDs, or kiosks.
You'll
see examples of this type of work in the projects section
of this website - one of our latest jobs - Crucial Crew
- involves building a virtual house to teach children
about how to deal with emergencies, to be launched at
this year's Sightsonic
Festival. Fires, gas leaks and burglaries are animated
using Macromedia Director, and the user can interact with
the virtual environment to make decisions and learn.
A second phase of the project involves us teaming up with
a games development company and producing a fully animated
3-D version of the Crucial Crew house in game format.
YMN's
commitment to extending the scope of its creative multimedia
abilities is reflected through YMN's lead role in launching
and running Creation,
York's Convergent Media Network
